We've flipped 40 seats from red to blue since 2024, and we have a real opportunity to win up and down the ballot this November. The North Tampa Dems and friends will be taking to the streets, not to dance, not to be in a parade, but to canvass for the Democratic candidates on the ballot in the coming election.   This year, we have the strongest cohort of Democratic candidates running for office, EVER! From U.S. Senator all the way down to School Board, these are the best crop of candidates we could ask for. Shining stars, ALL!  All of their names will be on our all important Voter Guide we will passing out to every single door, and to anyone who happens by us on the street. We have over 400 voters to contact in the Lake Magdalene area.  Meet in the McDonalds parking lot on the east side closest to the gas station. Wear comfortable clothes, a North Tampa Dems T-shirt or any other Democratic or blue T-shirt and a huge smile! If you are new to canvassing, we will pair you with a seasoned canvasser who will show you the ropes. We will give you all the materials you need. Please download the Mini-van app to your phone before you arrive. Bring water, wear sunscreen and make a difference in your community! Plant City Dems Club will hold a No Kings Rally in Plant City at City Hall on October 17 in order to organize to win in '26! We're raising awareness about Early Voting -- which will take place at Bruton Memorial Library next door from October 19-November 1; Reenrolling in Vote by Mail, and Getting Out the Vote in general for this important midterm election. Bring your own sign on October 17 or we will provide you with one! We'll also be organizing volunteers for an afternoon door knocking event that day in nearby neighborhoods. Every election, the South Tampa Democrats have adopted the Jan Kaminis Platt Public Library as our voting location. Join us to help ensure Democrats are not being prevented to vote, that our neighbors are making the most effective choices, and that we have a great time fighting for democracy together. REGISTERING TO HELP DOES NOT REQUIRE BEING PRESENT FOR THE FULL DAY. Indicate your hours committed when you sign up. Please commit at least 2 hours. You must register all days you plan to help. IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR DIFFERENT HOURS ON DIFFERENT DAYS, PLEASE SUBMIT AN INDIVIDUAL FORM FOR EACH DAY. You may submit one form for multiple days if the hours are identical.

Greet voters and give them Democratic Party Voter Guides to reference while voting. There are many races like school board where a candidate's party is not stated. Our Voter Guide lets the voter know who the Democratic Party recommends in these races. Also this year there are many amendments and ballot initiatives. Our Voter Guide will give the official Democratic party stance on these amendments and initiatives.  We recommend bringing water, wearing sunscreen and wearing a North Tampa Dems T-shirt if you have one, or any other Democratic T-shirt or blue shirt. Done in pairs, we’ll supply everything you need. It’s fun and important. Join us!

Your site captain will show you where the boundary is. Please stay outside it at all times, and don't approach voters in line. We're here to be positive and welcoming, so please don't engage with anyone who tries to argue. Just smile and wave. Our Dialin' Dems Coalition (North Tampa Dems, LGTBQ+ Caucus, East Hillsborough Dems, Democratic Progressive Caucus, New Tampa Dems) is teaming up with Kathy Castor's Campaign to Get Out the Vote in Hillsborough County. This event has the potential to be the biggest Dialer phone bank we have ever hosted! Why? Because our coalition of five clubs, along with their leaders and volunteers, will be teaming up with the official Kathy Castor volunteer force. And when you add Kathy Castor's team to our Dialin' Dems Coalition, you are talking about six or seven boatloads of volunteeers. As those of you who have done Dialer phone bank before know, the more people on the Dialer, the faster it goes.  What to Expect This event is hybrid, meaning you can opt to do it virtually from home or you can opt to do it at Kathy Castor's office alongside her team of volunteers here: 1377 Providence Rd Brandon, FL 33511 There will be a 15 to 20 minute training at the beginning and then you will be off on your Dialer adventure. We are contacting Dems who have not voted yet and encouraging them to go vote right away at an early voting site or drop off their mail ballot. This is the most fun type of phone bank we do!  a smartphone (required) a laptop or tablet  great energy! If doing the event at Kathy Castor's office, we recommend headset, earbuds, or AirPods. Why We're Calling For Democrats in Florida most of our races will be won by a razor thin margin. This means we need to get as many Democrats and Democratic leaning NPAs as possible to cast a vote in Hillsborough County, whether it be Vote By Mail Ballot, Early Voting or Election Day. In this phone bank you will help voters make a plan to vote. Studies show, when voters have a plan, they are much more likely to vote. We have the momentum this year and must do all we can to make the most of it! In an average phone bank, we talk to about 750 people. Brian Nathan won his State Senate seat by just 405 votes. You do the math! Please join us for our monthly New Tampa Democratic Club meetings! Our meetings occur on the 4th Monday of each month, and are typically hybrid with an in-person and virtual option. We will welcome you as a guest and invite you to become a member. Social time begins at 6:30pm and the business meeting begins at 7:00pm.  IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND VIRTUALLY YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE MEETING BY USING THIS FORM. Join the Outreach Committee as we volunteer at The Market at Feeding Tampa Bay.  We will help our neighbors in need "shop" for groceries in a welcoming enviromnent. VOTER ENGAGEMETN, AT LAST FRIDAY. Volunteers Needed Sign up for a two hour shift to help with Setup, talk with voters attending the event, help with the close up. Select the shift that best works for you. October wiill have a Halloween theme. Event attendees will come with various costumes. Wear a custume and have fun. The 4 to 6 shift helps set up our tent and table etc. The 6pm to 8pm involves voter engagement and providing information about the election, Voting procedures and our Club.  The 8 to 930 shift involves voter engagement and helping break down the tent and table and load it up for storage until the next month. Last Friday is a great way to let citizens know about our Club and how they can participate. We look forward to sharing this event with you and having fun engaging with our voters.

The best way to strengthen our democracy and build a blue Hillsborough is by knocking doors and talking to our neighbors. Join us as we kick off out efforts for the MidTerms, our countywide field program focused on organizing, building real connections, and making sure every voice is heard. At this launch canvass, you’ll meet fellow volunteers, get a quick training, and head out in teams to have meaningful conversations with voters in the community. Greet voters on Election Day at Calvary Lutheran Church where four precincts vote.  Hand out our voter guide to voters.

Saturday, November 7 will be a time to come together as a Party to celebrate 2026 Election wins and commiserate over the losses (we hope this is the year there are none)! Whatever the outcome, let's celebrate our great HCDEC Volunteers and all that they do to engage voters and help elect Democrats!  We'll meet at O'Brien's Irish Pub & Grill from 2-5 PM on November 7. Food and Drink are on your own, as is the celebratory mood! Let's get together and party like 2028 and a new day are around the corner! 

In place of our monthly meeting, we are having an Election Celebration Party on November 10th! 6:30 - 9:00. Be there or be talked about! 😀 Let's gather together to celebrate each other, and hopefully, many Democratic victories in Hillsborough County and Florida.  I am proud of our whole club and all the hard work we've done this year.
